Cult Mentality

So, the website of Marco Visconti–a cult survivor who got out of Ordo Templi Orientis–is under a denial-of-service attack after his most recent revelation. This is an organization that claims to promote the freedom of man.

The upside to this is that, whoever is doing this, will eventually experience cognitive dissonance–a feeling of malaise that results from actions incongruous with attitude. In short, at some point in the future, the fact that the OTO member behind the attack will realize that he’s not advancing the freedom of others and will either have to perform some slick mental gymnastics to handle the bad feelings that result or leave the group altogether.

The psychopathology of these cultists is obvious and sad. I hope they get better soon.
